On July 4, following the order of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has summoned Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine George Zakarashvili to express its strong protest in connection with the significant deterioration of health condition of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili imprisoned in Georgia.

The Georgian diplomat was emphasized that such an attitude towards Mikheil Saakashvili is absolutely unacceptable. The Georgian authorities must stop abusing the citizen of Ukraine.

In this regard, it was proposed to Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine George Zakarashvili to return to Tbilisi for consultations to find ways of solving the situation.

The Ukrainian side emphasized its readiness to discuss urgently the issue of transferring Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine for treatment and medical care.
